We welcome First Minister’s £43m for low-carbon infrastructure projects
Remarks by our Managing Director in response to the First Minister's announcement
Reacting to Nicola Sturgeon’s announcement of a £43 million direct energy investment fund, our Managing Director, Graham Provest, said:
“At Absolute we welcome the First Minister’s comments regarding the Scottish Governments support for the renewable industry in Scotland. We are in a unique position in Scotland, having an abundance of natural resources that we can take advantage of to meet our energy needs. This in turn will help to offset ever-growing energy costs which many people and businesses face.
We are enthused to see the government supporting the opportunity in Scotland with the £43m investment in Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme (LCITP).Whilst there is always more work that can be done the announcement indicates the Scottish Government’s commitment to ensuring Scotland reduces its carbon and promotes energy efficiency. This is an ambition that Absolute believes in and what drives us.
The LCITP-funded projects are wide and varied and the fund is supporting some of our key clients already such as Scottish Water. With technologically advanced and innovative systems, they will deliver strong economic benefits to the people of Scotland and, ultimately, deliver a Low Carbon economy that can be the envy of many. “
