Energy Efficiency

With rising energy costs, we are in the ideal position to help reduce energy spend. As well as reducing carbon emissions.

Increasing energy efficiency is at the core of what we offer our customers.

The government will install two major policies in the coming year. These are:

  • The Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH) aims to improve the energy efficiency of social housing in Scotland. All social landlords will should achieve the new standard by 2020.
  • The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) requires large enterprises to audit energy use every four years. We can help you achieve efficiency targets within the required timeframes. As we work with an approved assessor, you’re sure to be in the right hands.

We work with our customers to determine the correct mix of low carbon energy technologies. This can increase savings, reduce emissions and improve environmental credentials.

Minibems

Minibems is a demand management system for complex heating systems that can bring up to a 25% energy saving:

  • Commercial heating Minibems provides efficient and precise heating in commercial applications. These are in places such as factories, grain drying facilities and office complexes.

  • Domestic heating Minibems can deliver cost-saving, zonal heating and hot water control for domestic applications. Domestic applications can include blocks of flats, hotels, care homes and large residences. These applications need different areas of heating in different areas of the building.

  • District heating District heating systems deliver heat to multiple buildings via a single source. Utilising Minibems in a district heating system grants the heat network manager visibility of the entire network. On top of this, it has the ability to monitor individual energy usage.

  • Communal heating Communal heating systems include those which supply apartment blocks. Better visibility, greater control and metering options are the main benefits of Minibems.

  • Individual heating products The incorporation of Minibems into individual heating products provide better control. They also increase efficiency and reduce running costs.

Airius

Thermal stratification is a natural phenomenon that affects all buildings. This results in a dramatic imbalance of temperatures from the floor to the ceiling. The thermal stratification phenomenon occurs when hot air rises towards the ceiling or roof. This is due to it being lighter than the surrounding cool air. In contrast, the cool air falls to the floor as it is heavier than the rising hot air.

Airius thermal destratification systems will eliminate thermal stratification. Thus, reducing the carbon footprint of any building. Recommended by the Carbon Trust, they are one of the most effective energy reduction technologies available on the market

Bosch CHP

Bosch CHP has the potential to reduce CO2 emissions for power and heat generation by around 30%. That is when compared to using conventional boiler systems and mains electricity. In utilising the waste heat from the power generation process, Bosch CHP delivers energy utilisation of around 92%. Of which, around 33% is in the form of higher value electrical energy.

Bosch CHP modules feature a three-way catalyst and lambda control. This ensures low emissions and enhanced efficiency. They also produce very low noise levels through their integrated sound insulation.

Fuel input to CHP is exempt from the Climate Change Levy. In addition, Bosch CHP plant and machinery are eligible for Enhanced Capital Allowances. This is contingent on achieving certain CHPQA quality CHP statuses.

Bosch CHP is ideal for heating domestic properties, public buildings. This includes such as hospitals, schools, sports complexes and swimming pools. As well as industrial properties such as breweries, supermarkets and shopping centres.

Energimizer CHP

Energimizer CHP products bristle with features such as:

  • 3-way catalytic converter
  • Lambda control ensuring low NOx
  • Live monitoring with the ability to alter settings remotely
  • Connect to a local network or the internet

These products can be supplied mains parallel, mains parallel with standby facility and island mode.

Tesla Powerpack

The ability to store energy generated by wind, solar and other technologies is key to energy-efficient premises

We are able to provide, install and maintain Tesla Powerpack. The state of the art battery system is designed for efficiency and long life.

Powerpack supports a host of applications. They offer commercial consumers and energy providers greater control, efficiency and reliability.

The system scales to the space, power and energy requirements of any site. This is from small commercial businesses to regional utilities. It can be configured in various arrangements, offering far more modularity than competing models.

We can supply and install:

LED Lighting

Switching to LED lighting in your premises can help cut your electricity spending. Not only do they consume up to 90% less power than incandescent bulbs. But, they have a lifespan of up to 60,000 hours compared to 1,500 hours. This means they will need to be replaced far less often, further cutting purchasing and maintenance costs.

Generating virtually no heat, LED lighting is safe, cutting the risk of overheating and fires. They are also designed to withstand extreme temperatures and vibrations.

LED lighting can help in reducing energy consumption and reducing spend. This is when it’s used as part of a wider energy-saving strategy.

District Heating Systems

A district heating scheme is a system for distributing heat. The generated heat is in a central location. for residential and commercial heating requirements. This includes space heating and water heating. In the right location, it’s an ideal investment for housing associations. It is even ideal for local authorities.

We have experience in planning, installing and maintaining district heating systems.
